Michael Laurence has assumed the role of Stu Noonan in the Broadway production of Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio, replacing Erik Jensen. Laurence previously played the smaller role of Spike in Robert Falls' production, which begins previews at the Longacre Theatre on February 15. Kit Williamson will now play the role of Spike.
The character of Stu Noonan is a longtime friend and co-producer of the local radio show hosted by Barry Champlain Liev Schreiber. As Talk Radio begins, Champlain's show is about to make the jump to a national audience. John McGinley played Stu in the original 1987 Public Theater production and Oliver Stone's 1988 film adaptation of the play, both opposite Bogosian as Barry.
Laurence's credits includes Starbuck in The Rainmaker Arena Stage, Eric Bogosian's Humpty Dumpty McCarter Theatre, Faculty Room Humana Festival, Book of Days and Tooth of Crime Signature Theatre, Three Days of Rain, Things of Dry Hours, Wintertime, Tape, Levittown and Edward II. Film credits include The Operator, Escape Artists, Room 314 and Particles of Truth. TV credits include Third Watch and Jonny Zero.
